A protest by Ivorian opposition parties, banned the day before, is dispersed with tear gas by law enforcement in Abidjan. The political climate in the West African nation is tense ever since incumbent Alassane Ouattara's main opponents, including former President Laurent Gbagbo (2000-2011) and the leader of the main opposition party, Tidjane Thiam, were banned in September from running in the ongoing presidential campaign.
